These come in the form of various thieving tasks, such as lockpicking or hacking a laptop, and they play well on the PC version. Thief Simulator has a few minigames to do while on the job. ![]() If you do get caught, you’ll be arrested and have to start the job from the beginning. You’ll also need to drive to and from the job while avoiding any strolling civilians and patrolling policemen. That job might be to intimidate the homeowner by smashing a window, or stealing something to pawn off later. Once you’ve got all that down pat, it’s just a matter of completing the job given to you. It’s not as simple as a grab-and-bag job, you’ll also need to analyze the patterns of the people living on the property and find out their schedule. You can break into houses in a number of different ways, such as breaking the window or lockpicking the door open. Thief Simulator is set in free roam, sandbox neighborhoods, and you’ll need to keep your thieving wits about you to stay out of trouble. What’s meant to hook you is the gameplay. It’s a simple, cliche story, but that’s not what’s meant to keep you playing for hours on end. The whole point of the game is to do a series of tasks for Vinnie, right up until (spoiler alert) he tries to kill you, and you pay it back by blowing up his mansion. So if you made a mark before - drive home and come back.I’ve always seen Thief Simulator (2018) as being a strange game. Whether you marked them accidentally during a known period or waited till the next period comes in is irrelevant - you can no longer mark that specific tenant. I'm not even sure if it's a bug or something, but once you mark a tenant - they cannot be marked again in the same visit. MARKING CAN ONLY BE DONE ONCE PER VISIT. Try to make a clear line of sight to the person other than windows In my experience, various steel fences and smaller "windowed gaps" in or around doors often block out "vision," despite you being able to clearly see through them. Marking won't work through all see-through objects. Once you unlock the binoculars - pretty much use exclusively those in all situations Oftentimes you have to look a bit higher up than you think. I recommend trying to wiggle your head a little bit over a tenant to try and "catch" the spotting circle. Markings are done in 6-hour sections, always make sure to try marking tenants during a blank period in the schedule Marking tenants is finicky, but here are a few things to help you out:
